Home National Evaluation

a.    What is it?

National evaluation is a process that allows for a better understanding of important issues and trends across the country through different research instruments. Your participation in national evaluation allows for services like Wraparound to get a better picture of what can be done to better serve you and your family. As a result of this work, there are often changes in legislation that directly affect the amount of funding and mental health systems in your area.

b.    Enrollment Process

After becoming involved in Wraparound, your family will be contacted within thirty days by our lead evaluator, Sarah Stevenson. At this point in time, the purpose and extent of evaluation will be explained. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have.

c.    Do I have to be involved in evaluation to receive Wraparound services?

Your eligibility to receive Wraparound is not based on your participation in evaluation.  Your involvement, however, does assist the Rural Children’s Initiative in better serving you and your family on both local and national levels.

d.    Compensation

After agreeing to participate in national evaluation, your family will be asked to complete an evaluation interview every six months. Each time that you complete an interview, you will receive a $20 gift card for your time and participation. Your child may also be eligible to participate in a separate interview if he/she agrees to and is at least thirteen years of age. Your child will also receive a $20 gift card.

e.    How much time does it take?

Each evaluation period typically lasts two-three hours depending on the amount of time needed to answer each question and the research instruments being used for each interview.
